Excessive Head Sweating Causes And Types
More sweat glands are found in the head compared to other parts of the body. Therefore, more sweat can be produced at the head compared to other areas of the body. It has been established that some factors can be excessive head sweating causes.
Do you ever wonder why people have to sweat and why people sweat more in certain circumstances? First, perspiring is a must or else the temperature of the body will skyrocket. Sweating is one way that cools down the body. Second, sweating is increased in specific situations because some factors can influence it. Therefore, it is important to know what these factors are to be able to avoid them. And third, there are some people who sweat excessively because they have hyperhidrosis. Therefore, if a person has hyperhidrosis, it is very important to know the different factors that can aggravate this.
A malfunction in the nervous system is the cause of hyperhidrosis. The nervous system is responsible in the activation of sweat glands whenever there is a rise in the body’s temperature. Somewhere in the process, a malfunction happens which causes excessive sweating.
Another form of hyperhidrosis which is caused by another disease is called generalized secondary hyperhidrosis. If this is the type of hyperhidrosis that a person has, it means that his or her condition is actually a symptom of another disease like diabetes, stroke, heart failure, and others.
Both profuse and normal sweating can be affected by certain things. Intake of caffeine is one of these factors. Caffeine is a stimulant which results in increased metabolism. When there is a rise in the body’s metabolism, there will also be an increase in temperature. In this case, sweating is activated because of the increase in the temperature of the body.
Another factor that can activate sweating is spicy or hot food. Spicy or hot food contains the chemical component capsaicin. Capsaicin can activate the nerve endings of the tongue and mouth. The nerve endings found in the tongue and mouth are normally activated by an increase in the temperature of the body. And will then start the process of producing sweat by stimulating the sweat glands.
Another factor that can aggravate sweating is alcohol. Consumption of alcohol results in dilation of the blood vessels. The temperature of the body is increased when the blood vessels become swollen. And because of the increased temperature of the body, sweat glands are stimulated.
And of course, the body’s temperature will also increase if the weather is hot. And this will cause sweat production to amplify. To help the body cool down, it is suggested to hydrate properly by drinking 8 glasses or more of water.
These have all been shown to be excessive head sweating causes. If a person tries to avoid the causes that he or she can, perspiration will be lessened. But if the person with profuse sweating wants to get rid of it once and for all, he or she must choose from the different available treatment methods.
